  My Fiancé Can No Longer Talk to Me Because She is Becoming a JW

  i've been with someone for over ten years.

  sounds like a long time to be engaged, but we were perfectly happy with the arrangement, knowing that some of the circumstances in each of our lives needed to be worked out before we could marry.

  one day she told me that she wanted to investigate the jws.

  Hi Reekster, welcome to the group.

  I am so sorry to hear you are going thru this. I can tell you that you are not alone. I have seen this many times and I feel that it may be a form of manipulation to get you to study with the jw's too. I know my sissy used it to bring in several young guys. The idea behind it was she would want to date a guy, but my folks would not allow her to date any non jw's. So she would tell them to see her they had to begin a study. I hope that she can be reasoned with but she is in the love bombing stage right now and will be totally wrapped up in their love. She will be told that leaving you is God's will and she will be rewarded with a more spiritual person for a marriage mate. We are here to support you and her if she wants to ask questions she should feel free. Please be careful......

  My life growing up as a witness...

  i have just spent the last 4 hours reading many various posts and finally built up the courage to register and share my experiences.

  i am only 20 years old, but my young age should not overlook my intelligence as an observing individual.

  i was born into the religion of the jehova's witnesses.

  i was visiting some friends today and what struck me was complete lack of imaginations kids have today.

  they get easily bored.

  unless there is internet, video games or tv around they dont know how to entertain themselves.

  My baby is 16 now. The others are grown and gone. He loves the internet, dvd's, and games. But he also loves his guitar! He goes out to walk, but is like me. A little bit introverted. I did try to keep him safe whn he was young and it was a bit over-protective I guess. But I did not wish to stunt his growth so I let go. He is a good judge of character and when he used to go play football with the jw kids he picked up on hypocrisy and phoniness like a pro!

  He will do fine!

  Shambhala

  shambhala - a mythical kingdom that is supposed to be hidden in the himalayers *north or west of tibet*.

  shambhala means tranquility/peacefulness/happiness and supposed to be a society made up of enlightened inhabitants.. the are three ideas of shambhala - outer , inner and alternative meaning.

  the outer is an idea of shambhala being a physical place, but only if you have the right kama/energy can you reach it and experience it.

  he bases all of his advise in the bible.

  My mother told me today that the end is so close

  she has been a faithful jw for over 50 years.

  she was taught that the end was coming in the late 50's.. today she said that the terrible conditions in the world today prove that the end is near.

  i told her that i. think that conditions in the world were a lot worse during ww1 and ww2 and it looks like things.

  I read a thread a qwhile back and someone said they were telling about how the public talk was cut to half an hour and the wt and asleep! mags being reformatted were signs of the end being right now. Someone asked where in Matthew or anywhere in the Bible it says those are signs! LOL
